- During the “Particulate Matter Alert” initiative, individual VVS tickets can be purchased for 50 percent of the regular ticket price using the moovel app
- The offer is valid throughout the region of transport association Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart (VVS) covering all “Particulate Matter Alerts” until April 15, 2016
- For the fourth time, moovel is helping people in the Stuttgart region to stay mobile during the “Particulate Matter Alert”
During the “Particulate Matter Alert”, which will begin at 00:00 am on March 14, 2016, individual tickets for local public transport can be purchased for 50 percent of the regular ticket price via the moovel app. The 50 percent offer, which is valid throughout the region of transport association Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart (VVS), is only available via the moovel app. moovel Group GmbH is communicating its current price campaign via radio and online banners.
moovel already supported the first three “Particulate Matter Alerts”. Michael Kuhn, Head of Communications at moovel Group GmbH: “We have been very pleased with the results of our price campaign during the first three ‘Particulate Matter Alerts’. The number of tickets booked via the moovel app was significantly higher than on comparable weekdays without the ‘Particulate Matter Alert’.”
On the back of the very positive response, moovel continues to help people in the Stuttgart region to stay mobile during the “Particulate Matter Alerts”. The moovel price campaign will run until April 15, 2016.
Search for, book and pay for mobility with a single app
Multimodal mobility platforms such as moovel help make the designing of transport in cities easier and more sustainable: the mobility app from the Daimler subsidiary combines local public transport, car-sharing providers car2go and Flinkster, mytaxi, taxi dispatchers, rental bicycles and German Rail (Deutsche Bahn). Using the moovel app, car2go, Flinkster, mytaxi and German Rail can be booked and paid for simply and directly throughout Germany. In Stuttgart, VVS tickets were added to this list in November 2015 – the booking and payment of VVS tickets in the moovel app is so easy: when you search for a connection to a destination using moovel, the app automatically suggests the most suitable ticket to buy. The tickets are available in the app and can be called up online and offline for ticket inspections. This "Stuttgart model" – in other words booking and paying for local public transport tickets directly in the moovel app – is set to be introduced in other German cities over the course of this year.
