Second Particulate Matter Alert in Stuttgart: Public transport tickets available at half price with the moovel app
- moovel enables local transport in the Stuttgart region once again at half price
- During the "Particulate Matter Alert" initiative, individual public transport tickets can be purchased for 50 percent of the regular ticket price using the moovel app
- The offer is valid throughout the business area of the regional public transport association
During the "Particulate Matter Alert", which will begin at 00:00 am on February 26, 2016, individual tickets for local public transport can be purchased for 50 percent of the regular ticket price via the moovel app. The 50 percent offer, which is valid throughout the business area of the regional public transport association “Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart” (VVS), is only available via the moovel app and is restricted to the current "Particulate Matter Alert". moovel Group GmbH is communicating its current price campaign via radio and online banners.
moovel already supported the first "Particulate Matter Alert" in mid-January. Michael Kuhn, Head of Communications at moovel Group GmbH: "We have been very pleased with the results of our price campaign during the first "Particulate Matter Alert". On the five days in mid-January, far more VVS tickets were booked and paid for via the moovel app than before."
Search for, book and pay for mobility with a single app
Multimodal mobility platforms such as moovel help make the designing of transport in cities easier and more sustainable: the mobility app from the Daimler subsidiary combines local public transport, car-sharing providers car2go and Flinkster, mytaxi, taxi dispatchers, rental bicycles and German Rail (Deutsche Bahn). Using the moovel app, car2go, Flinkster, mytaxi and German Rail can be booked and paid for simply and directly throughout Germany. In Stuttgart, VVS tickets were added to this list in November 2015 – the booking and payment of VVS tickets in the moovel app is so easy: when you search for a connection to a destination using moovel, the app automatically suggests the most suitable ticket to buy. The tickets are available in the app and can be called up online and offline for ticket inspections. This "Stuttgart model" – in other words booking and paying for local public transport tickets directly in the moovel app – is set to be introduced in other German cities over the course of this year.
